Medicine of Birth

Each birth carries its own wisdom, gems and medicine.

For some births, this is easier to access, or the birth is so empowering that the wisdom, gems and medicine are less sought after.

For other births, because it wasn’t as empowering as hoped for, the wisdom, gems and medicine become more important yet perhaps also more illusive. We can get caught in a narrative that prevents us from seeing this birth story’s beauty.

This workshop is a special 4-week container with 4 women. Each week one woman goes through the Birth Story Listening© debrief, with an open discussion afterwards. Between the classes, there are homework assignments that allow you to delve deeper into your own story.

“Let there be no mistake, when a woman makes efforts to intervene and fight her demons, whatever that demon may be, it is one of the most worthy battles known, both archetypically and in consensual reality. Even though they might, as in the tale, hit ground-zero-minus-five bottom via famine, capture, injured instinct, destructive choices, and all the rest, remember, at the bottom is where the living roots of the psyche are. It is there that a woman’s wild underpinnings are. At the bottom is the best soil to sow and grow something new again. In that sense, hitting bottom, while extremely painful, is also the sowing ground.”

- Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D. in “Women Who Run With The Wolves, Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype”

There is an immense power in sharing our stories amongst each other, and finding common threads and new perspectives.

Stories have been a fundamental part of human culture since ancient times. Through sharing them, we connect, understand, and empathize with one another.

When women come together while sharing their stories, they inspire and empower one another. Their vulnerable shares encourage others to embrace their own unique challenges, recognize their inherent strength, and find the purpose in their story.

Through story sharing we can understand how we don’t need healing from our challenge, and instead we see that living the challenge was the healing after all.
