Scar Tissue Remediation Workshop: Supporting Healing Beyond the Surface
Pregnancy and birth bring tremendous physical and emotional changes, and while we often prepare for postpartum recovery, we may not always be ready for the unique healing needs that come with scars—whether from a c-section, tear, or episiotomy.
While scars are part of the body’s natural healing process, they require attention and care to ensure optimal recovery. This workshop will guide you through understanding how scar tissue forms, why it’s important to address it, and how to take a proactive approach to scar tissue management—something that is often overlooked in traditional postpartum care.
Understanding Scar Tissue
Scar tissue is more than just a surface-level concern; it forms a network that can impact deeper structures in the body, particularly through the fascia highways. Unmanaged scar tissue can lead to issues like pelvic pain, painful intercourse, urinary incontinence, and even prolapse. Adhesions—where scar tissue binds together tissues or organs—can further disrupt normal body function. For example, a c-section scar can create adhesions between the cervix and vagina, limiting mobility and future birth potential if left unaddressed.
Why Scar Remediation Matters
In this workshop, we will explore how scar tissue affects the body and what we can do about it. You’ll learn hands-on techniques for gently supporting your body’s healing process, no matter how long it’s been since your birth. Whether you’re a few days or years postpartum, it’s never too late to begin addressing scar tissue and the impact it has on your overall well-being. Together, we’ll explore simple yet powerful practices to restore the body’s natural function and flow.
Healing is a Whole-Person Journey
As we work with scar tissue, emotional healing often surfaces. Many women experience discomfort or emotional barriers when addressing their scars, especially after a traumatic birth experience. The healing of scar tissue isn’t just physical—it’s an opportunity for emotional release and recovery too. We’ll hold space for this journey and offer gentle practices to support both your body and emotions.
Whether you’re newly postpartum or years down the line, this workshop offers practical guidance and tools to help you reclaim your body’s health, vitality, and sense of wholeness. Let’s embark on this healing journey together.
The new Scar Tissue Remediation Workshop will be released in April 2025.
While the information share, practices, and handout are ready to go, I am still working on whether to do this in person, live online, or pre-recorded.
Please let me know if you are interested in this workshop (and you can help me decide on the format).
